Medical plastic accessories
ABS is widely used in the medical field. Compared with glass/metal materials, plastics mainly have the following advantages:
The cost is low, it can be reused without sterilization, and it is suitable for use as raw materials for the production of disposable medical devices;
It is easy to process and can be processed into a variety of useful structures by utilizing its plasticity, while metal and glass are difficult to manufacture into products with complex structures;
Tough and elastic, not as easily broken as glass;
It has good chemical inertness and biological safety.
Various ABS materials are susceptible to commonly used secondary processing, such as machining, bonding, fastening, electroplating, painting, and ultrasonic welding.
Due to ABS has certain rigidity, hardness, impact resistance and chemical resistance, radiation resistance and ethylene oxide sterilization resistance. ABS is mainly used in medical applications as surgical tools, roller clamps, plastic needles, tool boxes, diagnostic devices and hearing aid casings, especially the casings of some large medical equipment.
